内容简介：

Stroke is the third leading cause of death and disability in the Western society and is fast becoming one of the top killers in China. However, apart from thrombolytic tPA, there is no effective therapeutics to protect stroke-induced brain damage.Our research has been focused on repositioning drugs targeting NMDA receptors and neurite outgrowth inhibitory factors in stroke brain.

报告人简介：

    侯圣陶教授现为加拿大国家研究院生物科学研究所脑血管研究组组长。侯教授于1991-1996先后在英国伦敦大学神经病理系和英国布里斯托大学生物化学系从事博士后的研究工作，其间获得了英国医学研究委员会博士后奖学金和英国生物技术和工程委员会博士后奖学金。   

    侯教授近十年来主要从事神经细胞凋亡机制及卒中治疗研究。自1996年起主持10多项包括加拿大国家科学院和加拿大心脏及中风基金会的项目。2000年起参与并主持了加拿大国家科学院的Health and Genomics Initiatives项目 (二百五十万加元)。 获得过多项英国和加拿大研究组织奖励和资助，并在SCI收录的杂志上共发表近70篇论文，其中包括重要核心杂志J Clin Invest，J. Neurosci ， J. Biol. Chem.， Mol Cell Biol等。另外，2项成果申请美国专利。
