Introduction to the speaker:
Prof. Min Hu graduated from Shanghai First Medical College in 1982 and completed his Ph.D. in College of Pharmacy, the University of Michigan in 1988. He now serves as a professor at the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Texas Medical Center, College of Pharmacy, University of Houston. Prof. Hu is interested in the absorption and metabolism research of flavonoids and the research of prevention and treatment mechanism for tumor based on the study of absorption and metabolism of medicine.
Prof. Hu serves as an executive director of American Society of Pharmacy and an editor of Molecular Pharmaceutics,Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Prof. Hu also is the author of more than 20 books such as Coupling of Conjugating Enzymes and Efflux Transporters: Impact on Bioavailability and Drug Interaction;Natural Polyphenol Disposition via Coupled Metabolic Pathways;Oral Bioavailability: Basic Principles, Advanced Concepts and Applications. Up to now he has published more than 90 papers on peer review journals. Prof. Hu has been awarded with the honor of Rho Chi and A Pharmacy Honor Society. 2. NIH 3R01GM070737-04S1 National Institute of General Medicine. Supplement to Disposition of Flavonoids via Metabolic Interplay. 8/01/10-7/31/13. PI: Ming Hu. The direct cost ($48,000 to Hu) is $90,000 ($135,000 total cost) per year for 3 years.
