Dean's Welcome
Wenhao Hu Dean/ Professor
Welcome to School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University. This website offers a window into the programs and people of the institution.
School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a place for people who love to learn and contribute to pharmaceutical sciences and technologies; who want to improve the public health quality and biomedical technologies; and who pursue the pharmaceutical profession's service to society.
Although School of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established ten years ago, the school inherits the long culture and history of former Sun Yat-sen Medical University and Sun Yat-sen University, of which combination resulted directly in the establishment of the school.
Our 168 full-time faculty members bring to the School a depth and range of experience, and offer 41 courses for graduates, and 194 courses for undergraduates. Topics range from pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, structural biology, drug design, pharmacognosy, and pharmaceutical analysis, to frontier pharmaceutical sciences. Professors and Principal investigators in the school come from all over the world countries or areas, such as U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Australia, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, with great achievements in research and teaching. The faculty members have been collaborating closely with our industrial and medical institution partners who provide lots of internship opportunities for students to gain experience in process of the drug discovery, development and clinical application.
Our more than 400 postgraduates and nearly 500 undergraduates students come from around the country, engage in their own scholarly research, while also putting on plays, competing in sports, organizing conferences, and pouring energy, leadership, and creativity into a number of student organizations.
In the next ten years, we will continue to devote our efforts in discipline developing, talent promotion, and investment in hardware and software.
We value talents. We eagerly and warmly welcome all talents from all over the world who are willing to devote themselves to human healthcare research and the education of future talented pharmaceutical scientists and professional pharmacists.
The greatest educator in Chinese history, Confucius, once said, University's aim is to understand one's own flaw, to understand the people, and to achieve perfection. I believe you will find that our school is positioned to continue to provide leadership in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists in the 21st century.
We look forward to greater achievements in the days ahead.
